Production Area Manager

Safety 

  • Accountable for execution of Risk Assessments, Safety Walks (operational), 5S Audits, Layered Audits (operational). 
  • Responsible for the execution of Safety Walks (leadership), Layered Audits (leadership). 
  • Accountable for Near Miss, Incident and Accident Reporting (associated communications). 
  • Responsible for Near Miss, Incident and Accident Investigation, regulatory, legal and industry compliance. 
  • Accountable for ensuring completion of shift start / end checks including non-conformances, TPM scheduling, adherence of PPE, adherence to EHS and QMS. 
  • Accountable for ensuring resource allocation (technical), resource allocation (people), training (training needs). 
  • Accountable for requirements for training (deliver training), training (documentation and training matrix). 
  • Accountable for trouble shooting equipment and processes, SAP PM notifications. 
  • Accountable for the delivery of Toolbox Talks. 

Quality 

  • Accountable for the adoption of lean philosophies, lean processes, and improvement / CI activities. 
  • Responsible for internal and external non-compliance matters, Corrective Action identification and Corrective Action implementation.
  • Accountable for scrap management. 

Delivery 

  • Accountable for capacity and demand (volume) planning. 
  • Accountable for the adherence to production plan, achieving production performance / targets / OTIF and OEE. 
  • Accountable for ensuring the delivery of shift change over meetings, daily reporting, and weekly reporting. 
  • Support the delivery of monthly reporting. Responsible for all employee (monthly) briefs / updates. 
  • Responsible for relevant assigned business projects. 
  • Accountable for absence reporting. 

Cost 

  • Accountable for department budget. 
  • Support with consultation for LRP. 
  • Support in relation to AR's, NPI considerations and RSM’s. 

People 

  • Accountable for nurturing positive culture and upholding BorgWarner Beliefs and Behaviours including DE&I. 
  • Responsible for deputising for the role directly above.
  • Accountable for ensuring a flexible workforce, undertaking training needs analysis and talent development. 
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of training and development plans. 
  • Accountable for onboarding, wider business cross functional integration / communications and Performance Management. 
  • Responsible for processes including Annual Merit Review and performance management including Annual Performance Reviews. 
  • Accountable for actions relating to HRIS. 
  • Responsible for actions relating to recruitment, leavers, and headcount. 
  • Accountable for actions relating to formal capability and conduct matters - first line (informal). 
  • Responsible for actions relating to formal capability and conduct matters – escalated. 
  • Responsible for actions relating to Employee Relations - disciplinary / grievance.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • 5 years of related experience within a manufacturing related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or working towards) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of supervising employees in a manufacturing environment , preferably including Stores / Warehouse and including the movement of goods.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • PC literate including MS Office and ERP System.
