Government Affairs

BorgWarner is engaged with the public policy process in a manner that is transparent and supports our business interests. We communicate regularly with government officials in our major markets to share our perspectives and ideas. We also collaborate with public-sector representatives on economic and workforce development partnerships.

BorgWarner’s Government Affairs department oversees lobbying activities, communications with public officials, and memberships with trade associations and other tax-exempt organizations. The department ensures lobbying compliance through a third-party verification process. BorgWarner complies with all laws governing our employees and their interactions with government officials in accordance with BorgWarner’s code of conduct.

Trade Associations

BorgWarner participates in industry and trade organizations that may communicate in the interest of their members on legislative and regulatory affairs issues and be engaged in political activities. These types of organizations may represent a broad range of members, and therefore, represent a broad range of perspectives. In the U.S., Europe, and Asia, examples of our memberships include: Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), European Association for Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), and AmCham China. We also have memberships in select state or regional chambers or manufacturers' associations. The Government Affairs department reviews each membership annually to ensure ongoing alignment between the industry and trade organizations and BorgWarner’s Beliefs and vision of a clean, energy-efficient world.
