System Release Engineer – PowerDrive Systems

The system release engineer coordinates and processes internal and customer system releases for automotive high voltage inverters. You will be the key player for getting all engineering competencies contributing to deliver software, hardware, data and test work products required for releasing the product to the customer. You will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team, working on latest state of the art battery management systems, 800V SiC / 400V Si / SiC inverters or onboard chargers for battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles for the e-mobility mass market.

Job purpose

The system release engineer coordinates and processes internal and customer system releases for automotive high voltage inverters. You will be the key player for getting all engineering competencies contributing to deliver software, hardware, data and test work products required for releasing the product to the customer. You will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team, working on latest state of the art battery management systems, 800V SiC / 400V Si / SiC inverters or onboard chargers for battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles for the e-mobility mass market.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the determination of manufacturing programming information with software, system, manufacturing test, and hardware engineers
  • Verification of the product memory against released manufacturing programming data
  • Consider cybersecurity settings for internal and customer product releases
  • Release software and calibration data files from the development version control system (Plastic SCM, BitBucket) to the manufacturing release system (holding area and release database) and link them to the correct hardware revision using SWIT (Software Release Web Interface Tool)
  • Coordinate with system test and calibration team to release data files into customer release system
  • Coordinate and contribute to the systems release checkout prior to mass production
  • Support engineers in the plant in rolling out the release into production
  • Adapt release process according to product and customer responsibility
  • Keep track on upcoming product releases with project leads
  • Keep all project stakeholders for the product release informed of upcoming activities and due dates (Tech and Org Review)
  • Support the plant in rolling out the release to production
  • Generate the internal part numbers and link them to the customer part numbers (in SWIT)

What we’re looking for

  • Engineering degree in Electric, Electronic, Mechatronics, or similar. Master’s degree in related technical field preferred.
  • 2 + years of experience in Automotive Electronic or e-Mobility 
  • CAN and UDS knowledge is expected
  • Good foundation knowledge in embedded electronics is a plus
  • Cybersecurity knowledge is a plus
  • Manufacturing process knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with Version Control Systems is a plus
  • Good communication skills are required
  • Fluency in English is required. German would be an advantage
  • Travel 10% required, domestic and international
