The [Electric Machine Analyst] will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of electric machines used in automotive applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the electric machine designs meet performance, efficiency, noise and reliability standards.

  • Design and Development:
    • Develop and optimize electric machine designs for automotive applications.
    • Conduct electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analyses to ensure performance and reliability.
    • Collaborate with design and project engineers to ensure that designs will integrate into vehicle systems.
  • Simulation and Modelling:
    • Utilize simulation tools to model electric machine performance. 
    • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) simulations.  Process the results of these simulations, draw conclusions and communicate these through the organization.
    • Develop and improve simulation models to predict machine behaviour under various operating conditions. 
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor the latest advancements in electric machine technology, updating skills when required.
    • Identify opportunities for electric machine innovation, efficiency improvements, design cost reduction.
    • Engage with Test and Systems engineers to improve the alignment of simulations with test data.
    • Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise.
  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Electric Machine Design.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in electric machine design and analysis, preferably in the automotive industry.
    • Proficiency in simulation tools including electromagnetic FEA, Matlab and Simulink.  Familiarity with Ansys Maxwell and Motor-CAD is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Deep and broad knowledge and understanding of electric machines.  Experience of designing automotive traction machines is preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Good time-management skills, ability to deliver on-time with minimal supervision.
    • Fluent/native proficiency in Chinese language.  Business proficiency in English language.
