BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems (PDS) is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Finance Controller at our Krakow Technical Center in Poland.  In this role the controller will be responsible for providing the company's engineering management with reliable financial reporting to make strategic decisions. The person holding this position will be responsible for both financial accounting and reporting (with support of statutory, tax, Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable teams), as well as controlling.

Your responsibilities

  • Oversee Krakow Technical Center R&D financials and work closely with Engineering and other Global functional leaders
  • Coordinate and lead monthly meetings with the local Engineering team to collect forecast updates and ensure they are accurately reflected in our forecast process
  • Perform financial analysis relative to business performance, forecast and plans
  • Planning the Reporting Unit’s (RU) budgets and monitoring monthly performance to budget
  • Assist in driving consistent financial practice and efficiency
  • Assist in preparation of Krakow Technical Center budget and long-range plan with particular focus on R&D function with support in preparation of R&D resource planning and conversion to cost
  • Preparing month end close journal entries and reporting actual and forecast in OneStream
  • Reporting actual data by engineering program to the global R&D Team
  • Implement and continually monitor business controls to ensure BW policies and financial goals are met within the RU

What we’re looking for

  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory position in controlling
  • Higher education (preferred fields: controlling, finance & accounting)
  • Advanced knowledge of English
  • Strong analytical / problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly developed analytical skills, reasoning, communication and presentation of analysis results
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Proactive approach to solving and advising on business challenges
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience with OneStream is a plus
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
