BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Production Planner at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Key responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between Customer and BW and coordinates follow-up activities to ensure high service level. 
  • Evaluating Customer purchase orders/schedules to create suitable production schedules.
  • Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
  • Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Coordinates and expedites right flow between shopfloor sub-stations
  • Coordinates with other Planners the optimum flow of the material supply according to the area of responsibility.
  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Adjusts production plan according to current customer updates and production status
  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Comply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standards
  • Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule
  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
  • Respect and comply with environmental policy rules
  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service

Education & Experience    

  • Bachelor Degree in related discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in logistics related field
  • Recognized functional knowledge with the ability to train others.
  • Interdisciplinary behavior
  • Functional/Technical Skills – high understanding of SAP and MES capabilities
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office application
  • Effective communication skills
  • Negotiation Experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creativity
  • Interpersonal Savvy
  • Customer Focus
  • Fluent in Portuguese & English
