As part of the National Future Day, BorgWarner Engineering Services Switzerland (ESS) on November 9th welcomed 8 children to give them insight into the world of electronics and programming.
The aim of Future Day is to promote equality in career choices. Girls and boys change sides and get to know fields of work that are atypical for them.
The children, relatives of employees, between 11 and 13, accompanied them to Brügg from both the Swiss-German and French-speaking parts of Switzerland. BorgWarner ESS is located in a bilingual region and our company is multilingual.
We organized several workshops for them in our laboratory. They assembled and soldered a kit that they could later program to make the lights glow in different colors. They also wound a small electric motor kit, which gave them an idea into how an electric motor works.
