BorgWarner Morse Systems is headquartered in Ithaca, New York and employs over 1,300 people in the Ithaca area. Founded as the Morse Equalizing Springs Company in Trumansburg, NY in 1880, BorgWarner Morse Systems has a long history within the Central New York area. In 1906, Morse Equalizing Springs Company moved to the South Hill Plant in Ithaca. The Morse Equalizing Springs Company joined BorgWarner in 1929, just one year after BorgWarner was formed. In 1983, the Industrial Business and South Hill Plant was sold to Emerson Electric Company and BorgWarner Morse Systems moved to the current Warren Road Plant.
