Our campus in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, received the Empresa Socialmente Responsable Distinctive certification from the Centro Mexicano para la Filantropia, recognizing corporate social responsibility based on employee quality of life, business ethics, community involvement and environmental protection. BorgWarner’s social responsibility efforts in Mexico include providing employees with influenza vaccinations and cancer screenings, training over 725 people in our Code of Conduct and achieving 3.6 million man hours with no accidents. Throughout the year, employees support the local community, participating in 17 volunteer activities and donating $22,000 to health and education charities last year. To protect the environment, the campus employs energy-saving lighting and water-saving irrigation systems. Employees have also planted 30 trees in the city.
