Auburn Hills, Michigan, May 24, 2017 – BorgWarner, a global leader in innovative propulsion system solutions, supplies thermostatic valves for the FIAT® 1.4-liter MultiAir® turbo engine, which powers the 124 Spider. Designed to help improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, BorgWarner’s thermostatic valves optimize engine temperature throughout the operating range. To meet growing demand, BorgWarner has installed a new production line at its facility in Piracicaba in São Paulo State, Brazil.
“Ongoing investments in our manufacturing capabilities will enable BorgWarner to deliver innovative and efficient solutions to our growing list of customers,” said Joe Fadool, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Emissions & Thermal Systems. “We are pleased to supply our thermostatic valves to FIAT.”
BorgWarner’s thermostatic valves deliver fast response to stabilize engine temperature by controlling coolant flow between the engine and the radiator. At startup, the thermostatic valve helps the engine heat up, which contributes to reduced emissions. During engine operation, the thermostatic valve maintains the temperature of the coolant within the normal operating range, which helps improve fuel economy.
