São Paulo, Brasil, April 24th 2019 – BorgWarner, global leader in clean and efficient technologies for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles, announces its aftermarket product portfolio expansion in South America during the 14th edition of Automec, April 23-27 at São Paulo Expo. Designed for lightweight, heavy-duty and utility vehicles, the new products will be released throughout 2019. A highlighted new product is a turbocharger with VTG technology, for the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, already available in Brazil.

As a global leader of turbochargers to automakers, BorgWarner expects to launch 13 new turbocharger models in 2019. Included in the new models are eight options for heavyweight vehicles, including Iveco, Scania and Volvo models. In lightweight vehicles and pick-up trucks, five products developed for Kia Motors, Nissan and Toyota models are planned.
The fleet in Brazil totals over 7 million turbocharged vehicles which fuels the company’s strategy for the portfolio expansion and revised distribution network. This fleet is a mix of 3.3 million domestic lightweight turbocharged vehicles, 1.8 million imported lightweight turbocharged vehicles and more than 2.1 million heavy-duty turbocharged vehicles.
