Auburn Hills, Michigan, May 15, 2019 – BorgWarner was honored to receive The Gordon Millar Award, sponsored by AVL, on May 14th, 2019 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit, Michigan, at the SAE Foundation’s Annual Celebration Dinner where industry leaders that have made an unwavering commitment to STEM education are highlighted. The distinguished Gordon Millar Award recognizes an individual(s) or organization that best demonstrates continuous philanthropic support of the SAE Foundation's mission to encourage and increase student participation and achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

BorgWarner has consistently been a strong global supporter of the SAE A World In Motion® (AWIM), which is a teacher-administered, industry volunteer-assisted program that brings STEM education to life in the classroom through hands-on activities for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Throughout the years, BorgWarner has supported the program with both funding support and volunteers. BorgWarner employees frequently visit local schools with the goal of helping students develop a passion for STEM activities through different actions and events where students explore STEM concepts.
